On Thursday this week I’ve been given the opportunity to sit with a panel of experts (thank you!) at an American Advertising Federation of Des Moines luncheon. The topic is “Using Social Media for B2B Marketing” and we hope to help answer questions from the group about how they can utilize the latest web technologies in B2B environments.

Will the info/presentation materials be shared through some other channel after the meeting? I would like to attend but have a board meeting that day. Thank you…
Janet
Janet,
There are a number of ways to get access to the information:
- Visit the wiki we have put together for the event at http://aafdsm.pbwiki.com/
- Use Twitter Search to monitor content tagged with #aafdsm
I imagine that after the event is over we will upload any slides we use and some notes about the questions posed and answers given.
Also, thanks for stopping by my blog!
I’ll be there! Looking forward to it…
I would like to attend but have another social event to attend in NYC. Next time let me know by @livecrunch before that happens. LoL
Hi Mike,
Any suggestions or material on social media for goverenment agencies. Our struggle is figuring out how we can use tools such as Tweeter to its full advantage. We are just starting to get into RSS feeds, FeedBurner, YouTube Channels and the like, but we are still trying to get a handle on Web 2.0 technologies.
Hope things are going well your way.
Hey Rick!
Here’s a link to a list of state governments using Twitter:

Incorporating things like blogs and giving people a channel to converse with the host organization is a great way to open things up to participation.
The Transportation Security Administration has been running a very successful blog for quite some time now:

Also, CommuterFeed is a cool website that aggregates traffic reports from people on Twitter and Pownce. I could definitely see the Iowa DOT doing something like this (or utilizing it). http://www.commuterfeed.com/
Feel free to contact me if you’d like to get together some time to chat more.
